The Office of the Attorney General at Broughton Hospital is responsible for representation of the hospital primarily in the involuntary commitment process. In addition, the Assistant Attorney General (AG) acts as an advisor on risk management issues, interfaces with the criminal justice system, and acts as hospital attorney in other legal issues impacting the hospital.
The AG also represents the state in personnel actions arising out of the state entities in this area, and writes appellate briefs for the state in criminal appeals.
