Mr. Berry has been a certified Associated Public-Safety Communications Officer Instructor since 1992. In 1997 he developed an in-house training and certification program, in conjunction with the EMS ACLS Training Coordinator and the North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS), for Telecommunicator certification as Emergency Medical Dispatchers (EMD). This program is the only “in-house” EMD program approved and in operation within the State of North Carolina.
Mr. Berry has extensive experience in the promotion, coordination and delivery of program-specific presentations to public and private sector organizations. He operated in the capacity of Public Information Officer for over eight years, assisting the Burke County Office of Emergency Services in building strong and mutually respectful media relations. In addition, he is well versed in Windows based computer application programs and computer oriented literature, software and system operations.
Mr. Berry took the leadership role in the planning and implementation of Burke County’s Computer-Aided Dispatch/Records Management System (CAD/RMS) Project serving in the capacity of Project Manager and Systems Administrator for Burke County, coordinated and chaired a multi-jurisdictional, multi-agency Public Safety Group and assisted the County and its municipalities in the acquisition, training and utilization of Open-Software Solutions Inc. (OSSI) CAD/RMS product.
Broughton Hospital is pleased to have had Mr. Berry join it’s Leadership Group in August, 2003. He will be a major contributor in helping the hospital to assure that necessary supports are provided in the service of the clinical mission.
