Ms. Gilliam has a masters degree in Library Science from Florida State University. She is a professional librarian with twenty-two years of experience in academic, corporate, public, healthcare, and educational settings.  Ms. Gilliam has worked at Broughton Hospital since 1998. She is inspired by the inscription over the door of the Library at Thebes, which describes the library as "The medicine chest of the soul".
