Ms. Olga Propst began serving in 2006 as the chief advocate of Patient Advocacy Services. She works under the direction of the Advocacy and Customer Services Section of the State Facilities Advocacy Team in Raleigh. Ms. Propst holds a master’s degree in Management/Human Resource Management from the University of Phoenix and a bachelor of science from Gardner-Webb University.

Prior to her appointment as chief advocate, Ms. Propst was coordinator of the Division A Treatment Mall at Broughton Hospital and was one of the first patient advocates hired at the hospital upon its creation in the year 2000. Her past work experience also includes working at Western Piedmont Community College as Coordinator of special population students and at the Child Advocacy Center in Burke County as the center director. Ms. Propst has more than ten years of experience working in positions supporting human rights of persons who were victims of all types of violent crimes. She was instrumental in the development of the first Child Advocacy Center in Burke County. Ms. Propst also served briefly as chairperson of the Broughton Hospital Human Rights Committee until she returned to employment at Broughton Hospital in 2006.
