Division A Treatment Mall

The Adult Admissions Division (Division A) is dedicated to the provision of individualized bio-psychosocial treatment for our patients.  The division is comprised of seven wards of approximately nineteen beds each.  There are three female wards, three male wards, and an acute stabilization ward.  We offer a variety of treatment modalities across the division with a major focus on psychosocial interventions. We have an off-ward treatment mall which is operational Monday through Friday from 9:00-3:30.  Our patients and staff are transported to the treatment mall during these hours. The treatment mall is a safe environment with treatment team rooms, medical records, psychosocial intervention group classrooms, de-escalation and restrictive intervention areas, neutral rooms, interviewing/assessment rooms, and an infirmary/medical treatment area.

Psychosocial treatment on the Adult Admissions Division is geared toward the stabilization of acute illness so that treatment can continue effectively in the community. Programming is primarily directed toward the reduction of dangerousness to self or others, facilitation of readiness of the patient to attend to treatment goals, enhancement of adaptive skills, and preparation for community reintegration. We work with the patient toward the identification of his/her goals, desired interventions to meet those goals, and development and implementation of his/her discharge plan in conjunction with the community. We believe that working towards these goals enables the patient to develop a more holistic sense of self, greater insight, improved coping skills, and the empowerment to deal more effectively with life.
